Hello!
I have been working on a canvas which is a bit outside my comfort zone. I prefer to work on watercolour papers. I used a photograph of my daughter as inspiration and just went from there. I used acrylics (another medium that I find difficult to use) and created the face and dress.
Then I painted the background a mixture of cobalt and dark blue with a very dark floral stencil over the top.
After this I dribbled inks onto wet watercolour paper and let it dry, I love the way ink just bleed together and you can create lots of interesting effects. Once it was dry I used a sizzex machine to cut out lots of different leaves and flower for the hair.

My daughter loved helping placing them before we stuck them down. And this is the finished painting!
